Background
Keech Hospice Care provides emotional and practical support for adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting condition. Their aim is to help patients enjoy the highest quality of life, while also providing vital support for their family and friends. They are one of only a handful of UK organisations offering adult and children's services on the same site. Their adult service provides care for patients primarily from Luton and South Bedfordshire, while their children's service cares for children across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Project Name: Shree Sanatan Seva Samaj in Partnership with OM Group (Mandir Sewa)

Project Type: Bring Joy

Background
Shree Sanatan Seva Samaj (Universal Service to the Community) was established in 1975 and registered as a Hindu Mandir and a Community Centre serving the local community in and around Luton with over 800 life members registered. It was the first place of worship and a centre for the Hindu community in Bedfordshire. The centre's contribution to the religious welfare and cultural, educational and recreational life of the community has benefited the community in Luton. It is the only Hindu Mandir in Luton practising Sanatan Dharma and as such we celebrate all the major Hindu festivals throughout the year where a large number of devotees within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire attend these events. We are also the first Fairtrade Hindu Mandir in the UK to be granted a certificate by the Fairtrade association for using and promotes the use of fair trade products.

Project Name: OMG - Animal Welfare

Project Type: Dog Shelter

Background
For over 20 years, Appledown Boarding Kennels have been providing outstanding boarding kennels and cattery facilities to customers throughout Dunstable, Bedfordshire. All of their accommodation was completely refurbished in 2001 and 2002. This enabled them to provide an even higher standard of housing for both cats and dogs.

Project Description
Depending on weather activities will range from hedge trimming, cutting the lawn, weeding, or painting the kennels themselves or taking the dogs for walks and bathing them.

Detailed Project Description
OM Group will be helping with maintenance activities of the kennels such as hedge trimming, weeding, grass cutting and painting the kennels to brighten the place up. They will also be feeding, bathing and taking the rescue dogs for a walk. The kennels hold over 33 dogs that are rescued dogs that come from abused homes or are found stray within 3 local councils.

Project Name: Mental Health Project

Project Type: Mental Health Awareness

Background
Whilst studying mental health nursing at university, priya soon realised she had a passion for overcoming barriers to mental health. Now as a qualified mental health nurse, priya actively engages in educating the wider community about mental health problems. She especially works closely with the ethnic minority groups locally in order to overcome stigma and improved access to mental health resources and support. As a qualified mental health nurse she works in an acute mental health ward and uses her experience and knowledge to help others and their families on a voluntary basis. Priya will also be available to answer questions and provide leaflets and information for those who want to learn more.
